Matching and Discovery

MPWH offers two ways to find people. “Flame” shows you photos that you like or skip, a Tinder-style feature that Wikipedia describes under its earlier name, SPARK. “Gallery” lets you search for the profiles you want to see. Its homepage lists filters for location, age, HSV type and more.

Kind's matching learns from your likes and passes. The people it shows you change as you use the app, so you do not have to search through every profile in your area yourself.

Privacy and Security

When you share your HSV status on any dating platform, you are trusting that platform with deeply personal information. MPWH's homepage lists anonymous browsing, private photo controls and SSL encryption. Its Service Agreement, from SuccessfulMatch.com, Inc., says the company may share a member's profile or other information with other dating sites it operates (“Related Sites”), under its terms and privacy policy. Read both documents before you add health details.

On Kind, your HSV type is encrypted at the application layer and is never sold or used for ads. Every account passes a live-selfie photo verification before it appears in discovery, and you can choose to block your phone contacts.

Pricing

MPWH is free to join. Its App Store listing shows Premium at $14.99 for 1 month, $35.99 for 3 months and $54.99 for 6 months (checked October 6, 2026). Prices can differ on the website and outside the US. Its FAQ says free Standard members can create a profile, browse and view profiles, and receive and reply to messages from Premium members. Check what your plan includes before you pay.

Kind is free while it is new, with every feature included — messaging, seeing who liked you, and the full matching experience.

Apps and Access

MPWH works in a web browser and through its iOS and Android apps, which launched in 2015. Its FAQ also describes video calls, voice chat and chat groups.

Kind is a dating app for iOS and Android, made for people with HSV-1 and HSV-2.

The Verdict

MPWH is a long-running, herpes-only service with a website, apps, live chat and forums. It may fit if you want browser access and an established community, and you are comfortable with its paid plans.

Kind may fit if you want an HSV-focused app where every account passes a live-selfie photo verification and every feature is free while Kind is new. Kind was built by a software engineer who lives with HSV. It is newer and has fewer members, so check who is near you in each app.
